Big Chic - Carrollton
About This Spot
Big Chic sits humbly along South Park Street in Carrollton, offering a familiar kind of comfort that settles in the moment you step inside. This is a spot where the pace slows just enough to savor simple, honest food — a place rooted in quiet routine rather than flashy appeal. It’s the kind of fast food joint that feels like a community pit stop, where locals come for the warm hum of fried chicken sizzling and the predictable welcome of longtime flavors.
The atmosphere carries a down-to-earth charm with a touch of history, underscored by a steady rhythm of folks ordering familiar classics and picking up a quick, satisfying meal. There’s an unpretentious hush that pairs well with the steady clatter of plates and the occasional clink from the kitchen. While the pace might not rush you through your visit, there’s comfort in the steady flow — a reminder that this is a place where meals aren’t hurried but meant to be appreciated in their own unassuming way.
Big Chic’s focus squarely rests on its signature fried chicken, alongside a range of Southern staples that nod to tradition without complication. From catfish and shrimp to those flaky turnovers and sweet pies, the menu feels like a collection of tried-and-true favorites you might expect from a neighborhood haunt. Each order feels like a small, familiar celebration—fried pieces golden and crisp, balanced with sides that aim to bring a touch of home to your plate.
While some days may carry a quiet weariness in the service, reflecting the human rhythms behind the counter, the essence remains one of a community spot holding on to its place. For those willing to arrive with patience, there’s a unique joy in connecting with a piece of Carrollton’s everyday food story—one where the consistency of flavor stands firm even as the world turns a little faster outside.

I ordered from here a few days ago, the food is great but the older lady with the braids needs to fix her attitude. I can’t even finish saying my entire order without her cutting me off. We come here to spend our money not deal with stank attitudes.

Got the chicken livers and slaw. The livers were excellent but the slaw was soup. Had to dip out with slotted spoon.

Best fried chicken in Carrollton. So glad they are back.

Long time fan of this place in general. This particular location needs to expanded. They rebuilt the place and still didn’t put any barriers down. Service is slowwwww. They are in no hurry at all. Non-friendly attitudes. The food tasted the same. Okra was really dark. Like the grease needed to be changed. Rolls were softer than before. GO EARLY! Since the reopening, this place has been nothing but PACKED. Lines long to the road.
